This weeks activity is hike at Cascade Springs. Meet at Ryan's house at 11:00 am . Please bring a picnic lunch. We will drive to the springs and hike around on the trail. scheduled the tour of Mrs. Cavanaugh's for Wed. July 13 at 11:00 am. We need to meet at my house at 10:00 am. I have the directions. It may be best if I just copy them and hand them out as we leave. The cost is $1/person. I told them we would have 10-20. If we end up with more then they will divide us into two groups. The tour is about 45 minutes.

Hutching's Museum lehi Ut

This week will be a fun tour at the Hutchings Museum. The cost is $3 a person. Please meet at Sally's House at Noon. We will be going on a picnic first at JC Park and then onto the Museum. I will not be attending this field trip as I have a family reunion to go to. Please call me 801-623-9405 If you plan to go. Address for the Museum is 55 North Center Street in Lehi , Ut. I am hosting the 2011 Field Trip Planning Luncheon on...Thursday May 5th.......at my house........at 12 noon

Let me know if you are interested in coming. I will have a lunch catered and we can plan field trips for the summer. I will be sending out invites.

I have some new ideas and places to go this year. I hope that we can continue to have fun as a group. I love each and everyone of you. This has been a fun thing for my family and I. If you know someone that would be interested in joining our group please let me know.

I need to make the day for the field trips this year on Tuesdays. . I also would like to have more fun in the water this summer. Let me know if you bought pool or 7 peak passes for the summer.

Last summer.. was a hard summer as I was not in a good place. I am so excited for the fun this summer though. I am happy and ready to share my ideas and fun with all of you. I also would love to hear the ideas and plans you would like to see us do as a group. I know a few are pregnant and will have new babies this year. Still come and let us help you have a fun afternoon out of the house.

Field Trip Fun .

I thought that a few get togethers with some of the Field Trip Bunch may be a good idea. I found a few fun things to do for winter and decided to maybe arrange a day out with friends. The ideas I have are a Ski Day, Tubing day, and the space center for the kids. If anyone is interested please call me at 801-623-9405 or text.
Brighton Has a discount day on Wednesdays in December. Or night skiing is always fun too.
Tubing at the park in Midway is fun and the space center is open again.

Floating the River Thursday July 15th

We will be floating the river in Leamington Ut It is one of my favorite trips of the summer. Bring a friend the more the merrier.
The river flows like the lazy river at the water park. It is a fun 2 hour trip and the kids really enjoy it. Bring.... a picnic lunch we will stop at the park in Nephi , something to float on, a beach towel, sunscreen, and water. Young kids need a life vest also. There is a Reeds Drive in that is really good right next to the park if you would like to buy lunch instead of making it.
Plan on meeting at my house by 10:30am we will leave from here at 10:45 am stopping in Nephi about 11:45am for lunch. We will get to the river about 1: 10. pm. We need to get ready and place cars down at the drop off after arriving.
The river we float is the Seiver River that comes out of Yuba Lake flowing to the Delta Res. we floated the river last Saturday and Thursday it is flowing a bit faster then last year. You need to make sure you stay with your kids and help them up the steps out of the river.
I hope to see lots of you there. On this activity husbands are welcome to come with us.

Geo-cashng Wednesday June 7th

It is time for the AF CITY Geo cashing for the Steel days Activities. All that are planning to attend please lets me know asap/ Meeting at my house tomorrow at 1:30pm. Bring a little trinket to put into the boxes if you would like to take something out. I will have all these mapped out so you do not need a GPS to go on the treasure hunts.
We will split up into little groups of carpools to make this easier. Meet at Parker's Drive In after to get a ice cream.Hope to see you all there.

Just a FYI... I am trying to see how many are going to float the river this week and how many are going to float next week. I may change this week to just float the lower Provo. Please let me know.

We will be floating the river in Leamington Ut for the next 2 Field Trips. With girls camp and some not being able to go one week but they could the next. I decided to have this activity twice. It is one of my favorite trips of the summer. Bring a friend the more the merrier.
You need to bring something to float on and a life jacket for the young kids. The river flows like the lazy river at the water park. It is a fun 2 hour trip and the kids really enjoy it.
Bring.... a picnic lunch we will stop at the park in Nephi , something to float on, a beach towel, sunscreen, and water. Plan on leaving about 10:30 am stopping in Nephi about 11;30 for lunch. we will get to the river about noon.
The ride down to the river is about 1hour 15 minutes total and the river ride is about 2 hours. The river we float is the Seiver River that comes out of the Yuba Lake flowing to the Delta Res.

Monday Night Bowling with Families.

Manti Pageant June 24th Thursday

The Manti Pageant has been changed to Thursday June 24th. Due to a over lapping of other schedules. I will post more after I have a head count of all the people planning on going. This is a over night event or just a night event which ever you choose for your family. Space is limited for staying the night so asap rsvp is a must. As I will be out of town next week returning on Sunday the 27th. I have to do this field trip, shopping for my family reunion, and the next field trip after returning from vacation all done in the next 7 days please help out by responding.
This is what I have right now. Jenny coming ..but camping. Shauna Van going. that is all that has got back to me. with the date change. Please again I ask to please let me know by Friday the 18th of June. If I do not hear from you I will take that as a "No I will not be attending this trip"
If you are going you will be asked to help with food for dinner and breakfast the next morning. Everyone will get a food assignment and further instructions later. I will not be attending this activity as i will be gone. I have someone that will take over and be in charge.

Candy Factory

The candy factory tour is at 2:40. Be there by 2:40 and they will get us in with in 10 minutes of tour time. No later then 2:50 will they start the tour.
Also some are going to the Capital first. If you are this some be at the church between 11:30 an noon. We are leaving right after humanitarian so we can do both activities.
Also you can buy items at the candy store gift shop and the capital gift shop. Just a FYI...

Thursday June 8th we will be going to Young Living Farms. Meet at my house by 10:45 am. Trying to leave as close to that as we can. This should be a fun trip for all ages.
The cost is $7 for a wrist band to do all things or $3 a event.

This weeks Field Trip was so fun. we hiked up to Grotto Falls in Payson Canyon. It was fun to watch all the kids hiking, exploring, and playing in the water. Here are a few pics from our outing.

We will be hiking to Grotto Falls in Payson canyon tomorrow Thursday June 3rd. Fun hike.. short for all the Mom's..... but a really cool falls at the end.
We Will be meeting at my house about 10:45 am. You need to bring a picnic lunch with you. I am so very excited about this field trip. It is the official first one of the summer and I think it is going to be great.
Some of the kids have asked me if they can bring a friend. I do not care that is up to the Mom's. I also had a few Mom's say they would like to tell a friend. That is great too.
I will give a map and directions out to each driver when you arrive at my house. If you need or want to carpool with anyone that is great we can work that out at my house. We should be able to leave my house at 10:45 am. Please be here by that time. If you need to come up late or need a few extra minutes, call me 623-9405. do not text me my phone screen is still out.

First Field Trip ......

An incredible collection of historic toys, miniatures and over 4,000 dolls displayed in a restored carriage house. A treasured spot for little girls from 3 to 103 and guys will like it too. Displays include toy soldiers, First Ladies of America, American Indian dolls, dolls representing women of the Bible, rare boy dolls, 47 rooms of miniature furniture and much, much more.
We will be leaving my house at 1:15 pm. The museum is in Springville. It will be lots of fun. see you all there.

Ready Set Plan!

It is that time of the year to start looking forward to Summer and all that it brings. Sun, Tans, water sports, baseball, swimming, vacations ect ect ect ,,,,,, But it also brings....Kids needing something to do. We all know that busy kids are happy kids. That is why I decided to make Summer fun and try to add just a little bit more to my kids summer last year by organizing a "Summer Fun Field Trip Club". It was a great success. We had at least one trip a week and a movie.
I cannot tell you how much it added to Nic, Taylor's, and My summer vacation. We all had a very fun time spending it with you. One of the things that really stood out was the teenagers males and female helping with all the little kids. It was not only a fun time but a great learning experience for all.
Last year we had many fun day trips that included....hikes, floating the river, museums, picnics, space center, bike rides, Geo cashing, and even a few over nighters going to the Manti Pageant and Vernal to tour the dinosaurs. We have a few new ideas this year that are sure to be just as fun as last year.
I am having a planning meeting next week with a few Moms to get the field trips planned and organized. After which I will be delivering hot off the press calendars to your homes.

Old Fahion Christmas Activity

Going to "This is the Place" for a fun activity on Monday the 21st for Family Night. Leaving my house at 5 pm. Gates open at 6 pm. Let me know who is going so I can get tickets to each family. Skiing at Brighton...

Fun in the snow and the sun day at Bright Ski Resort. December 9th. Bring a unwrapped toy and you can ski from 9am till 4 pm for $15. It is a fun way to get out in the snow and the sun tomorrow. If your child is under 10 it is $10 for the day and you do not need to bring a toy.
Lets all plan to meet up at lunch in the lodge. Let me know on here or face book who is all going.
So far I think Bushman's, Young's and Searle's are in. Don't be afraid come out and try your luck at skiing. Everyone is invited.

Winter Fun Field Trips

I am going to do a few Winter Trips with the Field Trip Friends. I will list a few fun ideas and a few fun trips. Let me know if you need any more information on them or if you plan to attend.

The first one is a Ski Trip to Brighton Dec 2nd. 9th, and 16th. You will need to bring a sack lunch or money for lunch. There is discount days every Wednesday before Christmas. The cost to ski for the day from 9am to 4 pm is $15 You must bring a blanket, warm hat , or gloves to be able to ski for that price.

December 5th is the Ward Party and the Santa Parade down town AF

On Monday December 7th I will be going to Mutual Dell (snow permitting) and going tubing with my kids if anyone wants to tag along. I am leaving my house at 1:45.

The night of the full moon in December ...I will be going tubing right after dinner in the canyon with my family if anyone wants to come in the winter moon shine.:)

December 7th we are going to Temple square for family Family Nite. Leaving our house at dark.

December 11th We are going to a old fashion Christmas at "This is the Place Heritage Park"

Leaving at 5:30 from my house

December 14th..Car ride through the Cool areas for lights. for family nite and doughnuts and hot chocolate at my house after.

I have more ideas and fun stuff planned for my family. I will post each week and you can decide if you want to go or not.

We are going to go on a hike Thursday in the canyon to see the fall colors. Does anyone want to go???? We will be leaving AF at 3 to 3:15.

The carny is in town....... love it and hate it......... Love to drive by hate to go......!!!! Morning I am told is best. Nights are like living on the wild side in some foreign country south of us. But if you go with Bushman's I am told you may get some extra excitement. One year they saw someone they knew arrested. IT WAS NOT ME! Another year they witnessed a mullet man driving a red neck truck hit a lady (going slow but did hit her) and her child. I am not sure going with them is safe but it is exciting. Anywho's I am going tomorrow. MORNING. and trying to skip the hard core carny's if anyone wants to join me.

Saturday is the parade. Have fun with that. The only good parade in the state I already attended. I will be boating.

Sticky Shoe Play

The movie this week is a play. Cinderella. Should be a cute play. It is $1.50 if you do not have season movie tickets. Be there early as it will be crowded I think. I am arriving at 1:00 pm. Wednesday GEO- Cashing, Humanitarian , and Lunch

We are going to have a blast GEO-Cashing. It is like going on a treasure hunt. Things are going to work a bit different for this activity. So here is the plan.........................
We are going to humanitarian at 10 am with kids in hand. After we are done with the projects we will be having our lunch with all that show up to humanitarian. You need to bring something to share for lunch. I am personally bringing something so good you will love it, :) Jenny should be calling everyone on the lunch too. After lunch we will go on the Geo-cashing leaving right there from the church. Lets try and carpool to make it earlier while we are driving around finding our treasures. You need to bring something to put into the boxes. You can only take something out if you can replace it with something else. I personally bought a bag of goodies from Party Land in Lehi. It cost me about $3.98 for a bag full plastic cute farm animals. No candy or food items are allowed in the boxes. We will be inviting all the Mom's that go to humanitarian this week to go on THIS field trip only. We do not want to hurt any ones feeling since we are leaving from the church and eating at the church.
So you need to bring....
1. Something yummy to share for lunch
2. Something to put in the boxes so your kids can take something out.
OK now here is the part I need help with........ If you have a GPS devise. I need you to call me today!!!!! I need to get the hunts downloaded on to your GPS system. I have the hunts already.
Ken can help with this. We plan on getting this done Tuesday Night. So call me so I can arrange a time to help you get this done. I have 2 GPS devises. We need a few more though.

I am going all out to have fun so I do not cry because a beach house sounds so much better then the carny. You are all invited to come if you would like.
Monday is a official Field Trip. Bike Ride and then Breakfast at my house. I need to know who is coming, and who is just eating breakfast.
Tuesday is not a official trip. I am just floating the river and a few that did not go I asked if they would like to go this time. And a few that already went I ask to go also. I guess I have a big mouth and asked the whole world basically to go. So come and bring a friend.
Wednesday is a official Field Trip and it is Geo-cashing after HUMANITARIAN.
Thursday is I guess a field trip activity (The Sticky Shoe)but everyone goes on the day that suits them best. It just so happens to be a play this week instead. Because of Steel Days.
Friday I am going to the carny and hope to meet the man of my dreams, hook up, and be taken away from all the drama in my life right now. :):):) So there is the scoop starting Sunday i will list the activity for the next day and all the information you need. You can respond and I will know if you are coming or not.
But for today you need to go down one post from here and let me know about the bike ride and breakfast. The trip is closed officially tomorrow. I am listing Monday's because I have a wedding tomorrow evening and I need to buy the breakfast items before that. You have until tomorrow to let me know if you are coming. After that the field trip is closed or canceled.

Pancake Breakfast

Ok we are meeting at my house at 8:30 am and eating breakfast.I will have it ready by the time you arrive at my house. We will then travel up to Cedar hills and travel on the paved trail in any fashion you would like. Bike, jog, run, walk, skip, scooter, or what ever. I plan on being back by 11:30am. the latest.

Friday Movie Day Kung Fu Panda

Movie Day this week is Friday. Kung Fu Panda is the matinee. Meet at 10:40 am at the Sticky Shoe. Should be a fun time.

Don't forget to get your carnival tickets this week if you plan on going to the Steel Days. AF City Hall still has allot of tickets. They are $1 each.

This is not a field trip just a FYI for all you Mom's out there.

As you all may know Nic broke his hand on the FHE Hike and may be having surgery so I am not going to California next week. So.............................

I am having the bike ride or jog breakfast on Monday July 13th. . Meet at my house at 9:00 am We will go on a bike ride, jog, or walk with the kids and then eat Pancakes , Sausage, and eggs at my house in the back yard. If you do not jog, walk, or bike ride still come for the breakfast. It is our own Steel Days Kick Off.

Tree House Museum

This weeks Field Trip is to the Tree House Museum. I am so excited to take Haylee. I have a family member that is also going to come that has not come previously. Excited for everyone to meet her. You need to go online and get your discount printed up. You can visit treehousemuseum.org. It is for a $1 off for the kids. Print up and have them color the page. We will be leaving my house at 10:30 am. It will take a bit to get there. I plan on seeing if we can carpool up and not have to take so many cars and share gas if that helps anyone.

The cost is $4 for kids and adults. If you plan on going please post on the blog

OK this is just a added comment to see if there is any interest to this field trip........

Is anyone interested in a Delta Res Overnighter with families? We could tent , trailer, or motel it. AND........

go to the Res and play and boat for a day. The Res has a sandy beach with trees and picnic tables.

All could go but there would be some cost involved for the boat gas. Let me know if this is something you would or would not like to do?????

Fun on the River

We had fun on the river today. If you take into account that Patti was cold, Jenny wanted to know where the rope was the whole time, and Shauna Bushman dogged us. All in all a good time. Jk. It was a blast. We had fun. The sun did go away for a time and we were a bit chilly at times. But once again my boys had a fun time and loved the field trip. I did not think that I would enjoy this summer as much as I have when I quit working in November. I was so worried about what I was going to do to not want to go back to work. Thanks to a few good ideas, great friends, and Ken's money (lol) I am totally content to just mooching off Ken and enjoy the SUMMER! lol. Thanks to all that went today. Thanks for being my friend and enjoying this summer with my boys and I.

p.s. The picture is when we were leaving the fun one river town of Leamington, Utah population 217. There where more of us that went on the river.....but did not get in on the picture. Jenny got to town and wanted to know where the gas station was. had to inform her it was 30 miles back in Nephi. or 30 miles ahead in Delta. So she flew by the photo op.

Floating the River

We are Floating the River tomorrow. Please be at my house by 11:00 am. We will be leaving no later then 11:15 am from American Fork. The drive to Leamington is about 1 hr and 10 min. Bring a picnic lunch as we will be stopping at the Park in Nephi to picnic and then go on to the river.

All kids under the age of 9 need to have a life jacket. If they are not good swimmers no matter how old you are you need a life jacket. I have extra life jackets at my house. Please plan on being safe not sorry. The river is a lazy type river but not as lazy as the river at 7peaks. You can float on tubes, air mattresses, or a life jacket. I personally purchased rafts for $3.00 up town for my boys to use. You will also need some type on shoe to wear. tennis shoes, water shoes, sandals that strap on. No flip flops they will fall off. Bring a beach towel for when you get out of the river. It will be hot tomorrow. You will need sun screen. If you burn bring it! If you think you won't burn bring it.

So picnic lunch, life jacket, floating devise, towel, sun screen, and something to wear on your feet.. MY house at 11:00 am

Directions, American Fork south on I-15 to Nephi, First exit. Turn right. Go to the middle of town on main street you will see a park on the left side. Park by picnic tables under the Bowery by 7-11. Leave from Nephi continue down main street, turn right at stop light. Go till you come to the town of Leamington. Stop by the church on the left in the middle of town. Wait there till everyone has arrived.

Family Night Hike

OK we are finally doing the Family Night Hike to Upper Silver Lake. We will be meeting at my house at 5:00pm on Monday. If you would like to bring a picnic dinner you are welcome to and we can eat when we get up to the lake. The hike is bout 4 miles round trip. This hike is not straight up like the Timp Cave was. You can also bring a pole an fish if you would like too. Thanks and I hope to see you all there.

Trent's Mission Farewell

Our Dear Trent Searle's Mission Farewell is this Sunday. I am going to be sad for him to leave all of us. BUT I am excited for the great experience he is going to have and all the great life lessons he will learn. I am sure his testimony will grow and be received by all out in the great state of Washington.

He is going to honor us with a great talk on Sunday and all should attend. Our Church like always starts at 11:00 a.m. I will tell you that there are many Searle's out there and friends that will be attending. You will want to be to Church early this week. Make sure you all scoot to the middle of the row do not just sit on the ends.

I am also so proud to let you know........My Nicholas will be also talking at Church on Sunday. There was a opportunity for him to talk and I signed him up being Trent's friend and all. I think it will be a great thing for him to talk on the day of Trent's Farewell. So see you all there on Sunday. Trent I am so proud of the decision you made to go on a mission. You are a great example to my family. We are all going to miss you. You are AWESOME!

Manti Pageant

The Pageant was allot of fun. I really enjoyed watching the Book of Mormon unfold and the story of coming to the Salt Lake Valley. We have really come along way since then. It is all amazing. But the most amazing thing is that the Gospel has not changed,.

The cabin was fun even though I ended up staying behind to go to Haylee's Dance and leaving early to get my kids to Scout Camp. All in all it was a great time. I have really enjoyed the Filed Trips with my Friends.

Upper Silver Lake Hike...Has been moved to June 29th

Sorry but the Hike is called off once again for tonight. The rain has made a muddy mess up there. The Hike is officially changed to Next Monday Night June 29th. Meet at my house at 5pm. We will leave sharply at 5:15 pm.

The hike is 4 miles round trip. Dirt path trail. There is no water on the hike. You will need a water bottle and a lite pack if you are planning on eating dinner up at the lake.

The fishing is good at Upper Silver Lake right now. So bring a pole if you would like to fish.

The rain looks like it should be over now. I think that we should be able to get our hike on next week. See ya at the top!

Manti Over Nighter

The Manti over nighter is coming up this next week. I am so very excited. It has been a few years since I have gone to the Pageant. We need to get a count as to how many people are going with us. We need to hand out food assignments.

The place we are staying at is in a gated community. This means you have to have a card to get in and we only have one card. The cabin is at the top of the Mountain so coming down to let people in is not easy. We plan on leaving right after lunch at 12:30. It has about a hour and 15 minutes to get there.

We will eat dinner at the cabin then go down to the pageant. You will sign up for a food assignment for what to bring. We will BBQ hamburgers and hot dogs. Everyone will bring there own meat. You will need to sign up for toppings, a salad, chips, paper products, buns, or drinks. We will have pancakes and sausage for breakfast. You will also need to bring your own meat. We will have you sign up for pancake mix, syrup, butter, paper products, milk, and juice.Due to the fact that we have several boys and girls. We are going to have boys sleep upstairs and girls down stairs. There will not be showers in the morning as there is not enough water for all of us to shower. We are using someone elses cabin and we need to be respectful, and treat there home with our very best manners we have. Please remember that we are guest and should act as so while at their cabin.

Wednesday June 17th This is the Place Field Trip

We will be going to This is the Place Museum on Wednesday June 17th. Please be at the Af 3rd Ward Church House at 10 am. We will be car pooling up to the park. Bring a picnic lunch or you can buy a picnic lunch in the cafe at the visitors center. There are picnic areas inside the park to sit and have lunch at. The cost is $8.00 adults and $6.00 for kids. I can get in only 6 people in for half price and 2 for free. They put a limit on my family pass. Sorry for the miss print on facebook. I guess I should of asked sooner. Hope to see you all there.
